In 1770, John Adams, a British subject living and working in the British colony of Massachusetts as a lawyer, defended in a British court the British soldiers that had fired into a crowd of British subjects in the British colonial city of Boston. He did this because he believed that all British subjects were protected under British laws and entitled to fair trials.

This was five years before the Siege of Boston that opened the Revolutionary War and made the British our sworn enemies, and six years before the people in the colonies started thinking of themselves as Americans.

Read David McCullough’s book 'John Adams' before you think of this cartoon as history.

With "Wrong-way" Bill Kristol behind her it is MUCH clearer that she's insane. I'm so sick of preventing our enemies from destroying our way of life by destroying it for them.

Insightful as always, Ed. Do you see this as a return of McCarthyism, packaged in a different form perhaps?

I believe you and I'm not sure what the profile is, anyway, other than being in the class of conspiracy theorists.

I would have to also agree with your observation on the Repubs. I disagree on the downhill bit as we are already in the sewer after 8 years of GW. I'm not sure how you can go much lower than invading another country on false pretenses and approving/using torture.

I would say a reaction was being sought after, and he got one. Can't say I completely disagree with the first statement, though. Except I would add that the Repubs are resisting primarily for the sake of political advantage, rather than on principal. Much like the dems did in the latter part of the so-called "lost decade."

P.S. Just in case I seem to fit the profile, I am NOT a birther.

This should be a picture of Obama pushing the United States downhill into a sewer and the GOP blocking it.
The birth certificate is exactly where?

All the Canadians that I know, of which my cousin is one of them, tell me that their system is GREAT and they think that the US system is the worst possible system for a country with our level of economy.
