Great stuff, Ed, as usual. Keep up the great work. Obviously, our government still needs to be reminded of their ineptitudes.

Was I the only one that noticed that as the President outlined accomoplishments it was only the House that had passed bills to help everyday Americans and any progress is waiting on the Senate. It appears to be more important to impede the will of a president then to meet the needs of the people who are in need of help. More people will die from lack of insurance, more jobs will be lost and they will still be fighting each other. This is not governing.

I have to laugh. How can the Demo's blame the Republicans when they have had control complete control for the last year and did NOTHING. NOTHING, NOTHING. It is because they have nothing to bring to the table. they only want to take away from the table , fill thier pockets with money from the insurance companies. They (those in control ) are as bad as the bunch right after the civil war filling thier pockets with other peoples money. It is so sad that this proves that when you tell the same lie often enough people begain to believe that it is true. But The Last several elections (Mass.) have shown that the people are wakeing up to the Lies, and seeing the truth.
The Democ., Have had congress for the last three years Have done NOTHING. THEY ARE MONEY GRUBBERS, SOCILSTS. They fill thier own pockets . Give us health care the same care they have if they really care. Wake UP. Not going to happen.

Ed -
You got it so right with this graphic editorial. The president can only thrust the tools of his political trade into the task and see what pops. Government doesn't have a long set of cables developed from similar circumstances to work with so it must improvise. I saw some other jump starts in the background which showed moms and dads trying to jump start their careers so they can get back to work, and retail businesses trying to jump start their market so that they can pay their bills and school teachers trying to jump start the frayed resources they have to work with, and city servants trying to jump start their enthusiasm when budgets are cut and demands are tied and ... I suspect it will be a long time before things get started again. For sale: Used Country, high mileage, poor maintenance, leaks money, makes noises, owner will carry, make best offer. Don't call after 6:00 PM.

Barack Obama is the rare politician who talks straight, pardon the poor grammar. He talks specifics, details, avoids platitudes. He may be the first 'plain talker' since Harry Truman. He is clear with opinion and supports his opinion, and he is clear and prepared with his data, information, facts and does not abide historical revisionism. This has been impressive over the pasts 2 years I have been watching and listening. I want to see action, or read about it. I would like the Congress to grow some ... testosterone after 10 years of bushian estrogen. We have had 10 years of 1 1/2 branches of government. Not so very long ago, Congress was able to function for the people and the run the country as the legislative branch. Perhaps they can figure it out, one of these years.

It is strange how two people can listen to a speach and come up with opposite opinions. My take was that he tried to appease the left, center and right, but struck out on all three. His criticism of the Supreme Court Justices didn't help him any, either.
