Although I’m not drawing my Denver Square strip any more, I couldn’t resist doing a couple of sketches, using the characters, to comment on a couple of local stories. What the heck, maybe the strip’s not quite dead, after all.

I feel like I’ve gone to heaven. After yesterday’s excellent but totally distressing toon a revistation of grand satire is most welcome. I shall be passing this along. I seem to pass them all along.
Oh, it’s so nice to see old friends again!
I’ve missed these guys…thanks for bringing them back!
Two Denver Square strips!! Thank you! I, too, have missed the commentary the strip allows.
Any plans for a compilation of the Denver Square strips?
Alas, I had Ms. Sedum too. The evil side of tenure…
Didn’t everyone have someone at least a little bit like Ms. Sedum — maybe not 3 movies a week but close! Anyway I miss Denver Square so feel free to add in ones like this whenever the opportunity allows!
The “return” of Denver Square is an extremely bright spot in an otherwise bleak landscape. Thanks, Ed! (Please, sir, may I have some more?)
Hooray! One of my great joys back when I was in Denver was to read “Denver Square”. Feels like a bit of homecoming…
So glad to see the Denver Square! We have all really missed it. Please revisit often. One more thing– WE ARE SO HAPPY TO STILL HAVE YOU ED. I am still having a hard time without the “ROCKY”. I guess only time will heal!
Thanks Ed for not entombing your characters when the Rocky passed away…
How I have missed all of you – both the editoral cartoon as well as the Denver Square. Now may day today is complete. THANKS SO VERY MUCH!
I’m so glad to see Denver Square again! I used to read it every day. I hope you continue to “revisit” it.
Thanks for giving the Rocky Mountain readers – new energy and life. We love the “Ed’s ‘toons” and had thought that we had lost both the Rocky Mountain News and Ed’s ‘toons. Today, is my lucky day! Thanks, JAF
[...] Ed Stein, isn’t bringing back his long running local comic Denver Square, but as he puts it, he “couldn’t resist doing a couple of sketches, using the [...]
Okay–time to register at this site so I can comment! I’m so happy to see the family of Denver Square again. They had to leave Denver shortly after we did for the same reasons. I felt that someone understood the sadness that we felt in leaving a place that we loved. With the Rocky shutting down, it just deepened my sadness at leaving. I hope the Denver Square Family are able to return to Denver again just like we will some day. In the meantime, it’s nice to have them stop by on the web and say hi!
I join the ranks of people shouting “Hooray, Ed is back!” And, do keep the Denver Square popping up once in a while. Or, how about every day? It’s a great warm fuzzies neighborly feeling cartoon. The best to you!
